The Right Angle: Joe Mitchin Feeling the Pressure?

Morgantown, WV- One of the most respected owners in the league Joe “the Roach” “Chibbzz” Mitchin enters the 2017 seasons as one of the only owners to never miss the playoffs. Chibby, one of the measures of consistency in the league, was recently ranked number 4 in the owner rankings and there was some outrage over the low ranking. But Chibby had no quarrels with it when the subject was discussed on the league groupme knowing he wasn’t in the top 3 because he only has 1 title which is increasingly moving into the past.
Joe won the 2013 TTFFL champion where he traded for the 3rd pick in the draft, some say in a very favorable trade for Mitchin, and took Peyton Manning. Mitchin jumped on his workhorse and rode Manning during his record setting season all the way to the title. But now in 2017, with now 2 owners owning 2 titles, does Joe Mitchin feel the pressure to get #2? The Right Angle captured an exclusive interview with the new GA at the West Virginia University recently “There’s always pressure, I try not to think about it. There are peasants in this league who can’t even point to their name on the trophy, so I definitely don’t worry about the pressure from them” Chibby boasted.
Joe, dubbed the “Roach” by the fellow members in the TTFFL, continued his display of surviving no matter what the cost or obstacles in his way last year. Chibby went into the last week of the season needing a win or risked missing the playoffs for the first time ever. He achieved his goal by beating David Devine by 0.5 points on the last week of the season to grab the last playoff spot. “Being called the Roach is a nickname I really take pride in,” Mitchin said with a wide smirk on his face. “I survive in this league and make the playoffs year in and year out. There ain’t no squashing me!”
Chibby is one of the two members of the TTFFL to never miss the playoffs in a season. What does he think about that? “We take it one year at a time,” Mitchin started “but we know several members in this league are already out of the playoffs as we speak. So, I feel pretty confident at continuing this trend.” Chibby’s streak is officially at 7 straight seasons with only 7 seasons being in recorded history. But the league is heading into its 15th season, and Chibby has made the playoffs 14 times. Though only 1 of those seasons is in the new 6 man playoff where he sneaked in by 0.5 points.
Chibby recently moved back to his college town in Morgantown, West Virginia where he will be working for the athletic department and taking classes in the fall. Chibby’s move to West Virginia started the rapid decimation of the Canton Boys (RIP) with fellow owners Evan, and Andrew “Ace” Castle following suit. “I’m a trailblazer. What can I say, people want to follow my direction,” Mitchin said unprovoked. Did Chibby feel the pull back to West Virgnia for professional reasons or because he lived there when he won in 2013? “West Virginia is comfortable for me, don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the Canton fantasy corners,” Chibbzz said. “But there is only so much year frozen J&D chicken I can eat.”
Mitchin one of the more outspoken owners in the league loves to talk trash when he gets “drunk” at the draft and he has the track record to back up his boasting. He is tied for the most regular season wins with 54, and tied for second in average place finish. When asked about the draft Mitchin proclaimed, “I expect it to get out of hand, I expect it to be rowdy. As for the draft I just want my prototypical QB.” As for who expects to get out of hand, and rowdy the Angle will keep classified, but we for sure as hell know it won’t be Mitchin himself. When it comes draft time you’ll see Mitchin towards the back of the room sipping on a can of Sprite, waiting for his players, and making snide remarks for the prices he thinks are too high.
